Look at the first picture and at the sheet posted by Sergio

XG229XXX

2nd digit is a G is 7th letter in your ABC's, 7 is the month of July. 3 and 4 digit is the day of the month or the 22nd, and 9 is the 5th digit is the year 2019

Perfect... thank you Teecro. A hypothetical question which you don't have to answer is - why on earth would they go to so much trouble to mask the date? Why not 07-22-19

So if I go by what is laser etched, these batteries of mine are manufactured 9-27-16 ( JI276XXXX ), and on the negative terminal is 11-18 ( K8 )?

Am I understanding this correctly?

It looks that way although that 8 has a 6 shadow to it, check another battery negative post just to be sure.

I did not know Trojan had such a large inventory of batteries before they are activated, meaning the electrolyte paste add to them.

Did any of the batteries have a sticker as well?

Just the typical Trojan sticker.
Nothing that refers to the date.

I bought them from a friend. Less than a year old and still in perfect condition (after testing). Paid $350 for six of 'em. Trojan T-875.
