Steering squirrely
2013 Precedent, upgraded with lithium pack, and on stock tires/steering.
When we hit about 21mph+ the steering begins to feel soft and cart feels not that responsive. Believe have enough air in tires, and toe in is stock... Should I just start with replacing the bushings in the front? Any other parts that ought to be changed out just due to age? Anything else to tighten up steering at speed? Want to put larger motor on it, though not until steering is figured out. Thanks in advance, |

Re: Steering squirrely
I'd check the entire front suspension. You mentioned toe in being stock. Have you checked it? Incorrect toe in can make a big difference in drivability.

Re: Steering squirrely
Is there a sticky on here for checking the front suspension... Can't seem to find a breakdown page... guess can always dig up a manual.
Can the OEM steering be tweaked to be safe at 25-30mph? |

Re: Steering squirrely
If you need steering parts get a hold of David at Revolution carts (BGW sponsor). He frequently has steering and suspension parts he's removed from brand new carts when he installed lift kits. I found the parts to be very reasonably priced, he sells them as used parts because they have been installed but never run, they all looked brand new without any signs or wear... I started with replacing the bushings and just couldn't get it right. My problem ended up being worn and damaged clevis'. I called David and he made me a deal on the take off parts and I ordered pretty much everything except for the steering gear box. Surprisingly I bolted in the new assemblies the cart rides and my wife's cart steers perfect.
If I ever get another cart with some miles on it and suspension/steering issues my first call will be to David. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

Re: Steering squirrely
I sell carts with upgraded motors (27mph) often on stock suspensions and they handle just fine as long as it isn't worn out. If your in the market for a motor let me know!
