Boot be the trunk. Hood be the top. Bonnet covers the engine, in the UK.

Maverick,The coil could go out,but more likely one of the kill switches is grounding it out. Disconnect the kill switch/s then check for spark at the boot,or bonnet,or where ever it is supposed to be.
