Re: Question on 48v upgrade
Yes. When I finally got my 48v Lester all I did was move the white wire BACK to the Main Pack Positive and install a 48v HD WR solenoid (with new diode and resistor).

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
Gorno, I understand the diagram. Just wondering where your 8th battery is? Can't see it in picture. Thinking of doing this myself. Trying to keep battery out of bagwell if possible. Would adding a 12v marine battery do the same?

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
When you charge your batteries with two chargers 36 volt and 12 volt, do you disconnect the two sets of batteries from each other or do you simply hook your 36 volt to six batteries and your 12 volt to two batteries? Thanks

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
The way Gorno has it you can charge all 8 batteries at once...pretty cool huh?
By the way has anyone used this LVS Charger? http://www.lvssales.com/store/produc...cat=616&page=1 |

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
Definitely pretty cool but an electrician at work said the two batteries had to be seperated from the six in order to charge, he thought the chargers might fight each other. He was not positive but I do not want to learn the hard way. (learned enough things that way already!)

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
You DO NOT have to disconnect anything.Start from end and count 6 batteries. Charge them with the cart charger. Charge the #7 and #8 as a 12v bank with a separate 12v charger.

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
Ok, I am sure this has been asked somewhere here and I missed it.. I have 2003 36vt PDS cart with an Altrax DCX 400 and HD WR sol, If I want to try it, can I just put another 12 vt of cart bat in series and put the charger wires on 36vt so the controller circuit only sees 36 vt? Will it cook the resister on the solenoid or will my controller belch with 48vt?

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
kgsc, I am 99% sure your controller is rated for 48v. Check the Alltarx website to be certain.

Re: Question on 48v upgrade
You can power the solenoid with 36v on a 48v power system with no problem. Just be sure the circuit from the 36v spot on your battery bank goes through your key to your solenoid trigger wire connection.
