Default Batteries, 14 months later

I bought new Trojans back in October '08 for my cart and wanted to give you a update on how they are holding up.

Keep in mind that on the 28th of every month (never missed it)

I clean the tops by washing with a foaming clean and then washing them off.
I check and add distilled water only.
I tighten the cables.
and I spray all connections with a battery corrosion protectant.

Today all 6 of them were between 6.39 and 6.41.

My brother in law put new (store brand) batteries in his cart about 5 months prior to me getting mine and I know he only swipes some axle grease on his from time to time and fills them from the water hose. I'm very curious as to what our battery life differences will be.

Do you both have the same charger? The quality of operation of your charger has more to do with battery life than any other issue. Do you both recharge at about the same discharge point? If you recharge at no lower than 50% charge level and he runs his down to 20% before he recharges his will die first even if both sets of batteries were identical.

Same charger for both of us.

Can't say when he charges, I do mine as close to the book as possible.
