There is a click when i press the gas pedal but i don't know if its a solenoid or not. Would the solenoid only click when the cart is on?

^^ in that case NO, the solenoid does not engage even when the car is on. Does the solenoid have a sort of "ping" sounding click.

It should be a pretty loud click..all most like a clap. If you put you hand on it you will feel it. it is like a mechanical gate flipping back and forth.
