wiring an amp to a 36v marathon
I'd like to add an amp to my system but am confused about how to wire it. I have a power cable which I assume goes to positive and a ground which I assume goes to the frame. I could be wrong because I can't get it to work. Can someone help me?

Re: wiring an amp to a 36v marathon
Nothing on an electric cart gets grounded to the frame.
Get a voltmeter and find 12v from 2 batteries in series in the battery pack. Positive and negative cables go there. Don't forget the fuse. |

Re: wiring an amp to a 36v marathon
alot of Marathon cars out there have the frame (and by proxy the entire body) grounded......
One thing to think about when you place your AMP.... Isolate the AMP from contact with the body/frame of the cart. All too often I have had carts come through my shop with the frame grounded and if you were to install bolts through the metal body of your AMP directly to the frame in a situation like that, you COULD blow the AMP. Another thing to consider..... AMPs draw POWER and alot of it....... You might want to consider running a DC/DC converter to pull from the whole pack instead of just 2 batteries...... |
