Default cart stopped

Hello guys
I was driving my golf cart home when I pulled in the driveway I stopped, then put it in reverse and heard a small bang and now when I push the peddle I hear a grinding sound and wont move at all I took the motor off thought I snapped the key off in the motor but it was all good so now I'm thinking It's in the rear end I look in there with a flash light while the motor was out what I could see looked good, no ware, no metal that I could see, maybe there is a cotter key in the rear end ? I have a 1986 ezgo marathon 36 volt.

Pretty straightforward. One snap ring and the axle pulls right out. May as well put new bearings in since you're in there. Check brake pads for wear.
