Default 2000 PDS goes to slow speed

No beeps and it doesn't do it while its moving only when you start to take off. It ran at a crawl for two holes yesterday and then came out of it for the remaining 7 holes. I pulled on all the wires several times to no avail but I believe when I turned the tow switch off and on is when it went back to normal. I have researched this problem and found several threads that sounds identical to mine but cant find any with a cause. Wires and battery's are one year old (wire to motor or solenoid looks old). Any suggestions or can you tell me what to trouble shoot with a tester when its in the screw up mode? Thanks

I found a wire that had been melted into the solenoid terminal. I can see just a tiny bit of copper so I would assume it was making contact. Not sure if this would have shorted out but I am feeling very lucky I found it...might have been disaster. Not sure if this was causing my problem and might not know for a while as its been almost a year since it happen and only once then. I WILL get back to let everyone know one way or another. Oh by the way another possible clue is even though the cart wouldn't go faster than a crawl it would climb steep hills. Thanks

Will try some pictures of what I found later.
