I have juice but the cart won't move!
Ok I checked everything out with a volt meter on my G9. Over 6 volts are coming off each battery, there is over 36 volts at the cylinoid and the cart is slugish and has no power. What am I missing???

Have you load tested the batteries?

No, I just checked them with a volt meter. I figured if they were giving off the right amount of volts that would be an indication they were ok. I did find that the copper plate attached to the speed controll arm was worn and melted....could that cause the power problem?

If everything is working properly on the speed control at WOT it should be a straight shot to the motor. If the batteries are shot they can show a charge but as soon as you get them under load they can't produce.

Re: I have juice but the cart won't move!
I load tested the batteries yesterday. All the batteries showed 6 volts and dipped a little into the yellow weak bar under load and jumped back into the green when the load is taken off. So I assume the batteries are O.K. Where do I go from here??? Could the solenoid be bad??

I got my speed controll parts via fed ex today and replaced two contacts on the board, the arm and the movable contact that was melted and threw them back in the cart. Low and Behold it FLIES!!! The whole problem was the contacts on the speed controll not having enough contact.

Thanks! This is the first golf cart I have worked on. One question though what the heck does WOT mean?
