Default 99 DS Controller

I posted previously about my cart shutting down and was advised that my controller needed to be upgraded. I finally got around to checking out the controller thats in now. The sticker says "Curtis 1204-410 (D) 36-48v 400A"

Is this wrong? I have looked up the 1204-410 and everywhere states it is 225A.

It may be a refurbished unit. They claim to boost them but I think critical components are left stock.

Scotty, thanks for the reply. Would you still recommend replacing the controller with a true 400A?

99 ds 48v series ge d380 motor

Ive also read that this motor does not like slow speeds, like creeping through the woods (which is when its cutting off on me). Ever heard anything about that?

All electric carts produce more heat when going very slow. They just are not made for it. When you add taller tires it compounds the problem. The extra heat from the increased loads could be sending your controller into thermal shut-down mode.

This is the controller in question. Im guessing it is a refurb unit? This is slightly frustrating, lol. What would everyone else do?
