96 CC DS Fuse Link Smoking--HELP

Speed chaser is right, the resistor gets smoking hot when the solenoid is not activating and the controller is on and the throttle input signal is tell the controller to feed amperage to the motor. When this happens the resistor, not the solenoid, becomes the pathway for your amperage feed.

You mentioned the solenoid clicking? This is usually an indication of low voltage... in this case you may have a bad connection in the solenoid activation circuit or you may have a bad battery that is dropping a cell under load... put a voltmeter on the pack and try to go, what does the voltage start at and what does it drop to?

Your solenoid may be okay if there is a significant drop in voltage under load.

What do the three dots mean? I've seen this before on forums, and have no clue! Also, I've seen two and one dot answers.
Believe me, I'm not trying to pick on you, I'm just curious!

I was trying to confirm that the resistor was used to pre charge the controller not the solenoid as stated.

Some versions of vBulletin (the software that this forum runs on) won't allow a post with no actual text. For example, a quote answered by a quote won't be allowed. Or just posting a photo.

Yea--makes sense. I'll go out after our daily deluge stops and clip my long leads to the pack and check it out.
