Rotted battery brackets

Lol. Close. I just took some Steel 1.5x1.5 angel cut to fit box. Then got some lenal iron that is used for crawspace vents then the brickwork sits on. Cut to fit. Then I covered. It all with a rubber undercoat.

Are these frames on club cars steel or aluminum. The rotted battery racks look aluminum, but reading these again, looks like you guys are welding steel back in?
I am all about welding some steel.

Thats what I was affraid of and thinking.
I am thinking about making a rack out of alum or steel- but bolting it to the sides of the frame rails, so the whold thing will drop out after taking out the four bolts.
Anyone tried that, I thnk EZ go uses a similar set up.

Use carriage bolts if the batteries will be against the heads. A bolt head can wear a hole in a battery case over time. The bolts will be the weak point when it comes to future corrosion.

The problem I had with bolts is that it wouldn't allow the battery to fit without sitting on the bolt in a 48v club car ds. I need to get a bracket removed and replaced but for the short run a bolted a safety bar underneath that is bolted on the outside of the frame and just there to provide support until I can get a new one welded. I suppose it would keep your batts from falling out too. I just used a piece of square alum tube and stainless screws.

In a CC you can drop in a piece of aluminum angle metal. Some trays and some batteries allow enough room for this extra piece of metal (some don't)

I did aluminum angle bolted with stainless countersink screws. I countersunk the holes, and the screws are slightly below the surface of the angle, so no wear from the head!

Did you bolt to whats left of the rack, or go side to side into the frame rails? Trying to get my head around that one.

front to rear into the rails.

i cut out the rotted angle, and overlapped front to rear, then drilled one 1/4-20 stainless screw into the front of each new angle, and one into the rear of each new angle.
