solneoid voltage

I was reading in the forums about how to test the solenoid when I put a meter on the two little posts of the solenoid it reads 36v with the key on and I push the pedal down the voltage drops to 7.3. Is this normal? Sorry put in wrong place.

We need to know what year, model and drive system you are asking about here?

Basically no, it does not sound right.
