melting batteries
I just got my g1 and put new batteries in it. The are hooked up correctly but on my first test drive after about five minutes the car stopped. When I looked inside I found the 2nd battery on the drivers side had melted at the negative plug. The plug fell right inside the battery!
I replaced that battery. They are not getting hot during charging, but when I drive the car the first battery gets burning hot at the negative plug on passenger side. What is causing this? Any help please? |

Re: melting batteries
You had a poor connection there and it got hot! Clean your cables well and replace the battery that melted. You need clean tight connections. Monitor them carefully for heating after you do your repairs.

Re: melting batteries
I think whats going on is your cables are bad, more specificly the ends. They likely have hidden corrosion inside, reducing electricity flow. Any time you add resistance to a circuit that would have hundreds of amps flowing through it, you will have a large amount of heat. You could also have loose nuts on batteries, but i assume you have checked that.
