Default 97 ezgo dcs operating

I've got a 97 ezgo txt with dcs. What is the proper operation with this cart? Just hooked up batteries wait 30 seconds before turning to run on dcs then turn ignition on?
What about when finished driving and charging. Do I turn off dcs when not in use and while charging?

You only need to turn it to Tow when you are Towing it or working on wiring. Otherwise Run is fine.

Caution - the original Curtis control has a fatal flaw in it. Never run the cart low on battery voltage. Low voltage operation results in high amperage draw (to compensate for lost power). The resulting high amp draw creates excessive heat which will cause the controller to fail. If and when this failure occurs you may loose on or both directions of travel. (PDS & DCS carts)
The fix is an upgraded aftermarket controller like the Alltrax 400DCX

Can't afford any upgrades right now, but I would like to get it run first. As soon as batteries are hooked up and switch is on run the beeping begins. It will only stop when I slowly depress the pedal then it's sounds like tripping a breaker. Back to neutral it comes back on.

Didn't mean it to start out like that. I was trying to fix other stuff while waiting on the solenoid to come in. They were 2 different ones at the beginning.
