Fuel Problems
I put a new Fuel Pump on my 2002 club car, but still is not sucking any fuel from the gas tank. I have blown out the fuel lines running to the gas tank and still nothing. The line coming off the fuel pump is sucking. We blew air thru the pickup line going into the tank and it blew bubbles in the gas tank. Any Suggestions??

Re: Fuel Problems
I had something in the gas tank get sucked into the tube inside the tank and stop it up. Blow backward through the hose in the tank to make sure it is open.

Re: Fuel Problems
Ok, fuel problem is solved. Cart will run for 2-3 minutes and then shut down, let it set for 15 minutes and it will run again and then shut down. Thought maybe the alternator wasn't keeping battery charged but put a battery meter on it and it reads 12.5 volts. What the hell is going on???:

Re: Fuel Problems
Try a load test on battery if you have a load tester. I think you should be getting close to 14+ volts.

Re: Fuel Problems
I know you said fuel problem is solved but you might loosen fuel cap and see if that help. It might not be breathing and causing a vacuum after it runs for a few minutes.

Re: Fuel Problems
Check your starter generator brushes as well. This can cause this problem.

With a good strong battery, and a bad voltage regulator, the engine will suck the battery low and shut it down, 15 minutes later, the battery will come back up to a nominal operating voltage! and yes... you should be reading 14.7v to 15.3v at the battery when it running! Here's a page of the manual to test your voltage regulator! (click pic to enlarge) CC Gas Voltage Reg test.jpg |
