Can someone give me the proper testing method for individual and pack readings? Not sure if i should be disconnecting pos. or neg. cables, etc. Thanks.

Re: Testing with multimeter
No need to disconnect anything. Set the digital voltmeter to 200 volts dc and touch the leads to the 2 posts on a battery to get a reading or the 2 posts where charger connects to read the total pack...hope this helps?
Still troubled? What meter do you have? |

Re: Testing with multimeter
As described just read accross the battery post. One note here. Take the test at least 4 to 6 hours after a charge or discharge cycle.
Now with that said a better test is specific gravity as it will tell you a lot more than voltage can. |

Re: Testing with multimeter
Thnx scooty. I have a fairly good craftsman meter with all the bells. Just don't want to blow anything up...lol.

Re: Testing with multimeter
Is it a digital meter? I have melted a couple of the old analoge needle meters. These new digital meters are nearly idiot proof

Re: Testing with multimeter
Yes scotty, it's digital. It even has shutters that open and close as you turn the dial, so you can not put the leads in the wrong jacks. Very idiot proof!

Re: Testing with multimeter
Now that sounds great! Have at it post your findings here if you want us to analize them. Remember the batteries need to settle for about 30-45 minutes after to charging to get a true full charge reading.....this chart may help
