Default Yamaha G1 brakes-loose steering wheel

I finally got my project car home and started taking apart the back end, I was wondering if there is a how to on replacing the brakes. Also my frnt end is a little loose what could be the problem with it? I am not very savvy with car or carts so excuse the "dumb" questions. Thanks

The steering is loose on most of the carts. There is really nothing that I can think that you can do to fix it.

On the brakes do one side at a time that way you have one side as reference.

How much play do you have in the steering? The pins could be worn out inside the steeering box, or it could just need a preload adjustment due to wear inside the box. Try to see how much play is in the steering wheel before the wheels start to turn.

Is there a way to tighten the brake cable or should there be some slack in it? I ordered new pads today and just want to make sure that there isnt moer to the brake failure. i can put the park brake on and still drive almost without noticing it being on. Any ideas, thanks

for the steering there is a adjustment bolt with a jam nut on it on the steering box, after you open up to make sure there is grease, or tap the cover and pump it full or grease to stop that clicking noise, you need to jack the front end up and tighten up the bolt til it (the feel of the steering) binds then back it off a bit and tighten the jam nut.

Sent you a PM on the steering. Brakes you need to make sure that the brake shoes are properly adjusted, then tighten the brake cables last. Adjustment is made under the floorboard.
