'79 Caroche, no high speed.
Howdy!
Got a '79 Club Car with the 5 solenoid, resistor setup. Can someone explain how this is supposed to work? The thing will hardly move in reverse and won't go very fast in forward. I checked the solenoids and the furthest one on the passenger side never gets coil power. I only hear three clicks from the switch connected to the accelerator. First click, first two solenoids engage and wheels begin to turn, then the next two clicks engage the next two solenoids in order, and wheels spin faster. The last solenoid never gets energized though. So is the switch on the accelerator supposed to have 4 clicks? I see in the wiring diagram there are 4 switches there. Any help greatly appreciated |

Re: '79 Caroche, no high speed.
I'll answer my own thread in case anyone is searching for this later.
The PO had two layers of carpet down, preventing the accelerator from going to the floor and engaging the 4th micro switch. I also discovered my solenoid was bad, but at least I'm getting power to it now! |
