2000 Ezgo DCS differential issues
This is first.
Cart's motor runs but cart doesn't go. With rear end jack up the rear wheels will turn slowly but you can stop them with your hand and motor continues to run. I have never had this issue in 15 years messing with carts? Suggestions? |

I've read about a few broke axles on here. Just need to tear it down and find out what broke

Re: 2000 Ezgo DCS differential issues
Sounds like a striped brake hub. A striped hub is common on Ezgo. Remove the center cap on the rear brake hub , and see if the nut on the axle is turning, and the wheel is not. It takes two people, One to touch the the go pedal/(Don't Hold it down). And a foot on the brakes, and one to look and see if the nut is turning. If it is. Replace the hub and torque the nut down to #140 and your on the road

Well, if you can stop the castle nut from spinning, that sounds like the problem is farther down. Have you downloaded a manual for your cart? It sounds like you will need to at the very least take the brake drum off to find out what is going on.
This is a link to the manual: http://products.jacobsen.com/img/manuals/28646.pdf The rear axle section is in Q, shows you how to tear it down. |

Can something happen inside the pumpkin to cause this issue. I have never opened one up before.

Re: 2000 Ezgo DCS differential issues
If you hold one wheel the other one will turn. Put your foot on the brake so both tires can not turn. Then step on the go pedal easy, and look at both castle nut to see if one of them is turning and not the wheel

Re: 2000 Ezgo DCS differential issues
IF neither axle nut spins when the tires are on the ground start with the motor coupler before tearing into the diff.
