2003 TXT with Robin engine backfiring

2003 TXT with Robin engine is backfiring when letting off pedal and then pedal back down almost as it's a slight delay in reaction. It also backfires going down a hill. Valves have been adjusted to .006 due to a hard start problem which is fixed after the valve adjustment. Any guidance or help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

you need to make sure the carb butterfly is closing completely in the carb which it is not now.
Either need to back the throttle stop screw back until it doesn't touch and make sure the throttle cable is not holding it open, even just a little

Thank you very much, that took care of the backfiring. But my cart is really torquey at low slow speeds ( just trying to keep a slow steady pace but it's very jumpy) What cable and which direction do I adjust for that issue if you don't mind? Attached is my particular set up

Torquey and jumpy sound like the throttle is opening before the microswitch starts turning the engine.
Make sure the engine starts turning just before the throttle starts to open and you'll have'er dialed in.
Turn the key off and slowly push the pedal until you here the microswitch "click", the throttle should start to open right after the click.
