Default 86 marathon lift kit

i was wondering if anyone has tried to use a lift axle for a newer cart on an older one i would like to do a lift axle and then do like a 1in lift with blocks i already have 4in blocks in the front but im running 14in rims and 23s for tires and its rubbing in the front when turning and want to get that solved before i tear something up

I believe the newer axles are a different size where the spindles hook in.. 3.5" on my 2000. (1994 to 2001.5)

also don't believe you can use the newer spindles because earlier ones are drag link steering.. tie-rod wheel to wheel?
