Update on 1992 Marathon Gas Clutch Problem
Update on what I thought was a clutch problem.
I disassembled and reassembled the clutch on my cart after determining that the clutch worked as it should. Replaced the worn out NGK's with some E3's and put in a new fuel filter. Eventually came to realize I could just about stall the engine with my hand around the clutch body. Realized the motor wasn't actually running. Starter/Generator was all that was turning motor over. Now I know how these things start. Dumped some fuel in carb and she lite off and clutch sprang into action. Decided to remove fuel pump and examine. Pump was filthy inside. I cleaned with Super Clean dilution and blew it out and reinstalled.Once I got it primed she started sucking fuel and hasn't quit. I believe a rebuild kit is available thru STENS for this pump. |
