BBQ The Muffler
I have a silly question. I have seen several threads that talk about BBQing the muffler on the older gassers to clean out the sludge etc. How does one go about BBQing the muffler?

Re: BBQ The Muffler
Get a really nice fire going in a fire pit, set it on top like it's a log and enjoy the show LOL. Here's an example of mine when I did it

Nice, so just get it glowing? And I assume shake all of the leftover debris out of it?

Re: BBQ The Muffler
Nah doesnt have to glow. I use a small steel fire pit and 6 or 7 2" round logs. Itll get hot, start smoking out of both ends of the muffler. Then flames come our both ends lol. Eventually the flames go out and it smokes for a while longer. Then the smoke stops. That's when I pull it out and let it cool on the concrete.
Takes about 45 min usually for a bad one. Then bolt it back on. A couple good revs will blow out all the soot and you'll be good to go |

Re: BBQ The Muffler
Thanks for the tips. I'm not having any issues at the moment but it's good knowledge to have.
