Default 1989 EZGO Marathon 2 Cycle - Do I mix or does it mix itself?

Greetings. I am new to the forum. I recently acquired a 1989 EZGO Marathon. I'm told it is a two cycle. Please see attached photo of engine compartment. Please excuse my ignorance, but I've heard that you prex the oil/gas in the fuel tank and I've also heard that you put the oil and gas in separate compartments and it mixes itself. Can anyone provide clarification for me and what type of oil is best. Thanks!

I haven't worked on an 89 but that looks like an oil tank behind the air filter, I'd need a pic of the carb and intake manifold to see if it's all still hooked up to be sure

Just look in the fuel tank and see if it is clear or blue/black.

A lot of people remove the oil injection system since if it fails, it will blow the engine before you notice.

If you go premix, the ratio is 128:1, or even 100:1 if you plan to run it wide open all day.
