Re: Possible Electrical Short?
Scottyb,,,, If the OBC is bad, would it be possible for that to cause the arc when the ground cable is removed?

Re: Possible Electrical Short?
The thing with the hole and the Battery cable going through it IS the OBC
I went back and read the entire thread . So lets get to the Basics 1. What type of charger do you have , we are assuming it is the Club Car charger which is designed to work with the OBC (which other charger may not) 2. Charging your Batteries for days at 5 Amp will ruin the Batteries so STOP charging until we get the problem Fixed. |

Re: Possible Electrical Short?
The charger is the Club Car Power Drive. Why would they route the ground cable through the OBC?

Re: Possible Electrical Short?
So OBC ( On Board Computer ), turns your low Battery light on the dash ON, and tell the charger what the state of the batteries is so it will knoe when they are finished charging.
So the cable is actually sending voltage information to a coil inside the OBC. try this , reset OBC Resetting the OBC To reset the OBC the following must be done in this order: If no Tow/Run Switch then skip that step • Key Switch to Off • Forward/Reverse to Neutral • Tow/Run Switch to Tow • Disconnect the Battery NEGATIVE (–) wire from the Battery Minus terminal on the battery pack. • Put the Tow/Run to Run • Forward/Reverse Switch to Reverse • Key Switch to On • Lock the throttle pedal down The reverse buzzer will sound and go off in about 30 seconds. Leave the cart like that for 5 min to cause the OBC to reset. To reconnect the OBC back into the system: • Key Switch to Off • Forward/Reverse Switch to Neutral • Tow/Run switch to Tow • Reconnect the Batt – wire to the battery minus terminal on the battery pack. Once the OBC has been reset, the cart can be troubleshot. There is always a chance the OBC has completely failed and the reset process will not fix the problem. Consult your Club Car manuals or contact Alltrax for more troubleshooting of vehicles with an OBC. |

Re: Possible Electrical Short?
@#$%^&*()_ This OBC procedure is yours , - the colors (which were nice ) are the only thing missing
I just wish someone would StickeyFye it so it would not have to be cut and pasted daily . Get me some popcorn also and I may go to the bar tonight (afternoon) and get something to wash it down |

Re: Possible Electrical Short?
Well, Guys, I followed the OBC reset procedure (4 times as a matter of fact). The buzzer would not sound off while following the steps. After reconnecting the ground wire to the battery pack, buzzer works fine. The arc, that I was getting previously, is GONE! THANKS A BUNCH!!!! BUT, the charger continues to charge down to about 5 amps and remains there. MAYBE the charger has a flaw?
