Club Car will not charge

A poor connection at receptical can keep ( any charger ) from working correctly. My own personal 1996 48 volt cart had same problem that was just corrosion inside receptical. I had good connection through fuse to OBC, BUT ( charge wire connection )inside receptical wouldn't allow power through to battery pack. Doing this check before buying a new OBC is much cheaper than new unit and might save you the cost of an unneeded unit? I always try the cheap way first and then start buying parts only when I have to?

How can I check to make certain that I have good connections to battery pack. Everything looks good and I have changed out all connections on cables and red wire coming from receptacle to battery. What confuse me is that sometimes I can get it charge if I get rough and wiggle the charger lead in the receptacle, but here lately I can't even do that to get it to charge. Now, I wiggle the charger lead and the amp gauge will jump but immediately come back to zero. Any ideas?

You answered your own question "If I get rough and wiggle the charger lead in the recepticle some times it will charge" this means bad or loose connection in receptical? I dont know if you tried this with OTHER CHARGER, but you might want to check your own chargers plug ( that goes into cart receptical ) for good connections also just in case?

Yep I think you guys found it ... On the ezgos we replace the receptacle contacts ..... I don't know if CC does that? All I see in the book is a complete receptacle .....

Not until after you check receptical for problems and do find a problem?

A lot of the carts I see have more than 1 problem... it is a bad obc and a weak battery. Or a bad plug and bad cables ... You just have to start with the obvious and fix one thing at a time....... if you receptacle works only when you rough it up then replace it and see how the charger works,

how many volts does it take to for charger to run? I have 48v across batteries and 35v at receptacle.

Will 35v and chrging receptacle be enough to kick charger on????????????

i think you need 36 to 38 for charger to come on.......if you want to see if OBC is bad you can bypass the low voltage sensor in the charger and try the charger if it works than bad OBC...........but this sounds like you might have at least a charge receptical problem from what your posting and as scotty said its quite possible theres more than one problem...........................
