By-passing the OBC
After about 2 months of my batt light coming on, my charger will now not work. I'm pretty sure its the OBC..is there a way to safely bypass this? The cart is a 2000 Carryall 48V w/powerdrive charger. All batts show ind. voltages of 8.1-8.2-8.0 which, if I believe is healthy, right? Any other input on this would be appreciated. Charger does nothing-plug it in-no click-nothing. Thanks in advance!

Re: By-passing the OBC
100% charge for a 8 volt battery is 8.9!
You are at 60% of full charge. Check the link. http://www.trojanbattery.com/Battery...e/Testing.aspx |

Follow-up:
Plugged in the charger (Powerdrive) and found that you can still move the cart in FWD with the key turned on. This would never occur before....does this mean that the charger is N/G? I'll do th erelay bypass this weekend.... Doc |

Re: By-passing the OBC
post all battery voltages.
Check across the pack to make sure they add up. Check and tighten all Battery connections to each other and to controller, F/R ...etc. The reason I say this we had one in the last month that the batteries tested good until U applied power then it became obvious the circuit was open, it was a rusted battery cable. PS 8.1 and 8.0 are low but thats probably because it's not been charging at 36 + the charger should work. |

Re: By-passing the OBC
Follow-up to my last follow-up:
Bat readings as of today" #1 7.9 #2 7.1 #3 8.0 #4 8.0 #5 8.0 #6 7.9 Pack voltage-47.1 I know this is low, but remember-I don't think its charging. I bypassed the relay (see pic) but still nothing from the charger-I mean NOTHING! No click, him, nothing. The plug is fine, the wall outlet has power. Its just dead...Any other ideas? TIA Doc |

Re: By-passing the OBC
OK back to basics.
First thing we need to do is figure out if it is the charger or the cart. SO 1.Take your charger to a friend with 48 Volt CC, and try it on their cart. or 2.Borrow a 48 Volt CC charger from a friend , and try it on your cart. or 3. go here http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...r-chargers.pdf and download powerdrive manual to troubleshoot charger. |

Re: By-passing the OBC
Hard to tell but it looks like the picture shows no power connection to transformer. The wire from the circuit breaker doesn't look to be connected.
