Default Re: Another 48V Charging Problem

Finishing up the repairs and thought it best to report back.

Replaced the OBC and added the "new" light that came with it.

The old batteries were beyond my help, so bought 6 new 8V Batteries too.

Cleaned everything making sure all connections were tight and shiny.

Plugged in Charger and left it on all night. Still charging as I write this.

In addition to the above, I had to replace two tie rod ends, a front wheel hub and bearings in both front wheels. The hub was worn to the point that a race would wobble in the hub. No soft grease evident, just grease dust.
The portion of the bearing case that fits to the axle was permanently fused to the axle, all of the other portions of the case were in little pieces with the rollers lying inside the hub. This is the second Machine from the same owner that has not seen any maintenance.

So the cost to repair to this point is well over $1000.00. But it will be like new.
This forum is priceless. Perhaps we should mention that to Mr Startrek, William Shatner.

Thanks everyone for your kind support.
