2010 EZ GO RXV will not run or take a charge
I have a 2010 EZ GO RXV, and after smelling a burning electrical odor while driving the cart at low speed, the cart lost power and would not respond to throttle input at all. I towed it home and connected the charger, but neither the indicator light on the charger nor the cart come on when plugged in, which I believe means that it will not take a charge. Any ideas? I'm guessing controller problem...

Nope.
MOST controller problems come from modifying cart wire harness. Burning smell is probably Battery wire/connection issue or parking/emergency brake. Check batteries first. post more info--- how did you tow it home---RXV's are not always "tow-friendly" |

In order to tow the cart home, I switched turned the switch to tow and used my TXT to pull it home, and had no issues doing so. I'll clean the battery connections and try charging again.

I don't know how to do this. Where would I measure the voltage?

Re: 2010 EZ GO RXV will not run or take a charge
Under seat you have 3 batteries in a row and one battery behind them. First battery passenger side look for the positive post. This is where you put your red probe from your dvm on. Now the last battery that is the one behind the 3 in a row. This is where you'll look for the negative post and put the black probe from your meter on. That will give you what your pack voltage is.

Re: 2010 EZ GO RXV will not run or take a charge
A healthy battery pack will measure around 50 volts. It doesn’t have to get much below 48 volts for the cart to develop issues.
One battery, of the 4 (or 6 8 volt) batteries with a ‘dead cell’ could cause the problem. |
