Re: first cart - 2000 CC DS 48v
"A" was just a standard lettering for Electric. There were 36, 48, Powerdrive, Regen's,. etc with that designation. I was thinking '02.5 when the seats changed, but maybe it was '00.5, my memory ank can only hold so much....
You will know if it is a Lynx if it has the factory "Z" lift bar on the front frame.... Lockman1 has a factory Lynx (gas) and someone else, maybe Winston or Hit It, just got an electric one the last few weeks. |

Yes, '00.5 is when the roof style changed.
And like 'Nole stated, the Lynx came with the same style brush guard you have, series drive, factory 4" Z-Lift and some even had a limited slip differential. But you'll have to turn the wheels yourself to figure that part out. |

Re: first cart - 2000 CC DS 48v
Thanks for the help everyone. I found a decoder for the serial numbers and lots of the prefix letters designate different model lynx carts... There are like 11 of them. Is it possible this cart is a lynx cart with serial number starting with just "A"?

Interesting. We have an 08 gas that looks just like that with the z-frame lift, front brush guard, and rear seat kit. Always figured it was just aftermarket add ons. I’ll have to check the model number on it when I get a chance next week and see if it has one of the Lynx prefixes.

Re: first cart - 2000 CC DS 48v
So I have not been home since I posted this, but I had someone shoot me a photo of the carts underside and it does have the z lift.
Question, the driver side tie rod and tie rod end are missing. I noticed a little bit of play in the steering wheel, and the wheel is cocked going straight. Are those the only things you would expect to feel with the entire driver side tie rod missing? I want to order the parts to arrive when I get back home. Would you order a whole new steering box? Do the tie rods break frequently without impact on a golf cart? Also, tires with the 4 inch z lift are 22 inch correct? |

Re: first cart - 2000 CC DS 48v
Are you sure the tie-rod end is missing or are you just looking at the boot on the slider side and thinking something is missing?? (That is how your picture looks)
If the tie rod end is missing, the cart will not steer as one tire has no control mechanism attached to the steering system. The steering is adjustable by removing it or adjusting it below.... |

I must be confused. I was looking at the boot and nothing coming out of it.

Re: first cart - 2000 CC DS 48v
There's no tie rod mounted to the steering rack on the drivers side. The tie rod is a drag link at the rear of the steering arms runs all the way across to the passenger side. Similar to how a full size truck steering setup would be.
