Default Speed Code & Hi-Speed Motor Magnet

Greetings all,

I recently acquired my first cart. 2007 Club Car Precedent IQ 48V (non-regen) with a 6" lift and 23" tires. Initially I was topping out at 18 mph, which after researching, I believe I have speed code 3. I ordered a high speed motor magnet from Revolution, which put me at 22-23 mph. My question is, if I upgrade to speed code 4, will there be a speed increase or does the magnet prevent any additional gains?

Also, my cart has four new 12V batteries, which I now understand is not the desirable option unfortunately.

Thank you for any input. I thoroughly searched your forum for my question but could not find the answer, so I apologize if this has been asked before.

Nope, the magnet changed the pulse count as the SP4 would raise the RPM limit. One in the same.....

Don't be fooled, 4x12 is great! I have them in several carts. What you are concerned with is the amp-hour capability and generally with 6x8 you can get more. But I never ever had an issue with mine.

Drive it and enjoy it!

The speed code is going change the electronic RPM limit of the controller/motor combination to allow for 19.6 MPH.

The speed magnet is going to double the maximum allowed RPM of whichever speed setting the controller is set to. For instance if it's set on speed setting 3 (14.8 mph) your new RPM limit will be 29.6 MPH, therefore making a high speed code useless. These carts simply don't have the power to reach 29.6 MPH, but it'll do every thing a car with a speed code will do, and more, if it's healthy.
