Re: Changing batteries
I should move to Florida, or find a new source for batteries...

Re: Changing batteries
Good afternoon,
I just got my batteries back from the shop. They are ranging from 6.8 to 7.8 volts and no bad cells. Any idea how i should proceed? They also spun the stud on one of the batteries and are ordering me a replacement. |

Re: Changing batteries
What year is the cart and what charger are you using?
Those batteries have almost certainly been abused. Those voltages are too far out of balance to be used in the same pack. Are there any accessories wired to just two of the batteries? Ideally at full charge those batteries should be within one tenth of a volt of each other (8.3-8.4) For comparison, New Trojan batteries are matched within a few one hundredths of a volt. You may need to charge each battery individually to get them more closely in balance. |

Re: Changing batteries
Anyone have experience with crown 165’s?
I spun a terminal putting them back in. Im going to go ahead a throw a set in it. So my options are 5 rangers, a set of crown 165’s or a set of Trojan 875’s. The dealer pushed crown and wants me to go with those but are pricing out all options. |

Re: Changing batteries
Sounds like you're already wanting new batteries anyway, but for future reference, most golf cart batteries have standard A-style posts and you can bolt on a universal battery post clamp if the original stud breaks or strips out. It might not be the prettiest thing, and it will take some extra maintenance to make sure it doesn't corrode, but it will save you a hundred bucks for a battery that may not be necessary.

Re: Changing batteries
If you want to go with Crown I suggest the 190s rather than the 165s.

Re: Changing batteries
After reading the specs on everything I decided to stick with the rangers. The crown 190’s would have been $100 less.
