back up light
Guys/Gals
I need a little help, I have a 90plus lady in our park that drives her cart to bingo every monday. last monday she told me that she was having a hard time backing out of the driveway because it was dark. (and yes I do play bingo) So the question is. how can I put a led light on her cart that comes on in reverse? Does the reverse buzzer have enough power to tap into for a light? Her cart is an older model club car DS 36 volt Last edited by jim,s; 09-01-2018 at 04:47 AM.. Reason: add information |

Re: back up light
Add a relay to the buzzer circuit to feed a fused circuit from a power source to the light.

Re: back up light
Depends on the light. Suggestion; those little LED cubes pack a lot of light and only draw like an amp or so. I am not sure but depending on your friends cart, MAYBE the backup buzzer circuit is strong enough to run it by itself? I would think others here can confirm.

Re: back up light
Wouldn't the buzzer circuit be 36V?
I would put a 36V relay in that was triggered by the buzzer circuit (or from the reverse side of the F-R switch) and got its main power from the pack. Get a LED light that will handle 36V (lots of them out there). That should work a treat. Just get a general purpose single pole relay of 36V. You wouldn't need more than a few amps, I'd get a 10A one to be sure. Put a fuse in the power line close to the battery. Connecting an LED directly to the F-R switch would probably work (because they don't pull much) but putting in a relay is a safer option. |
