Default Fried my controller, need advice for new one

I have a 2005 IQ, and while cleaning all the electrical connections I messed up and reattached the battery cables before cleaning the motor connections and sparked across A2 and F2, which I have read on here can fry the controller, and sure enough, the cart is dead. I hear the solenoid clicking but I get no movement at all.

I would like a bit more speed. Everything is stock. What are the affordable & reliable options for replacing the controller and ending up a bit faster? Should I go OEM/Curtis and speed code 4, Alltrax XCT300IQ, or are there other good options? Will I have to upgrade the solenoid or can I leave everything else stock?

Thanks for any advice.

Reach out to a site sponsor. Either ScottyB at Carts Unlimited or Dave H at Revolution Golf Carts. They can set you up with an Alltrax for roughly what it would cost you to get a new stock controller. You will get better performance and more options with Alltrax....

And to those of you who haven't sparked across your motor terminals yet. Here is some cheap insurance when working down there.

Also go with the Alltrax controller

Good idea on the terminal protectors. I think I'll order some with the new controller.

No question an Alltrax! More user friendly, stronger and faster and much cheaper than an OEM...
