3 mph gain with magnet install
I recently acquired a stock 02 ds, iq cart with the GE motor. With the help of this forum and revolution shipping the same day, I had the magnet installed relatively easy.
Prior to the install, the cart ran right at 12 mph with regen braking present. After the install I can run at 15 mph and no regen braking, while going downhill it reached 20 mph before I had to slow it down. I live in a mostly flat area but do have access to small hills where it can run a little. Cart does not go above 15 on long stretches of flat road. I have brand new batteries, properly inflated tires and 180 lbs in the cart with no windshield. My search hasn’t yielded anything identical that had a resolution. There is no hesitation in throttle response and the speed sensor tests say it’s working as it should. Thanks for any guidance. Has anyone had a similar experience that would be willing to share some troubleshooting tips. |

Re: 3 mph gain with magnet install
The zip tie fix worked great for me! My 02 DS was going 15mph with speed magnet installed. I thought this was the maximum I would get out of it without upgrading the controller. Thank you Sergio for posting this information!

Re: 3 mph gain with magnet install
Thanks for pointing me in a good direction, I didn’t stumble across that one searching. I was able to loop a normal zip on the part and did gain another 2 mph. I’ll see if there is enough room to get one of the thicker tie wraps on there and keep searching for the last few mph gains. Thanks again.
