Default 2007 Precedent Controller Issue

Hi all, I have been out of the golf cart scene for a while, and just recently got back in with a 48v Club Car Precedent. It only took me a couple of days to blow up the controller (I think)! I neglected to put the cart in tow while I was changing out the springs for heavy duty ones. As I was loosening the top of one of the shocks, I dropped my wrench and it hit the motor, jumping the A1 terminal to the F1 terminal (there was definitely a loud pop and sparks flying). Now the cart won't run. If I lift the cart, switch to reverse, spin the wheel as the accelerator is pressed the motor goes...forward. It won't go at all if I don't help it get started by spinning the wheel. If I switch to forward, it will start to roll forward, but stops quickly. Everything was working perfectly prior to me accidentally jumping the motor terminals. Before I buy a new controller, I would love to get some feedback on other potential issues I may be overlooking.

Sounds like you let the magic smoke out. Now is a good time to upgrade to bigger and better for about the same price as stock.

Not sure putting the cart in tow would have helped you. You really needed to disconnect the batteries. Pictured is cheap insurance for a $500 mistake. Amazon has them for $15.
