Default 48 volt battery pack reading 66.7 volts

I have a 2014 club car precident with the Eric charger batteries are about a year old (cart was bought new last year a left over)not used much and well taken care of. So i added distilled water tonight and charged fully. The batteries made a ton of noise fizzy noise. So i got the multimeter out and started checking voltage. Surprisingly i found 11 or 11.1 volts on every Battery and the pack was at 66.7 volts. Is this normal.

That doesn't sound very good at all. If you plug in your charger, and check the voltage charge during it's charging, what is your voltage?

I would say if it's in the 65+-V, disconnect your charger as that appears at first blush to be the problem.

Equalize charge. How many batteries do you have and what is the voltage of each. I’m guessing you have 6 8 volts?

Actually re-reading this, that’s really high. It should be no higher than 61vdc

It’s normal. ERIC chargers can get as high as 72V during charging.

That said, if you have an ERIC, get the IDAT software from a Delta-Q (free on their website) and check the charge profile in the charger, make sure it’s the correct profile for your brand and model batteries. If it’s not, update the profile in the charger to avoid damage to your batteries.

That is a High Frequency charger and to get the ~91+% efficiency it takes that voltage and your batteries appreciate it. As FT4M stated, download the IDAT to help you more....

I am a new cart owner and this is the first I have heard of IDAT software.
I down loaded onto my PC.
Can you point me to some info on how to know what charge profile I have and know if I have the correct one set up in my charger?

I would start a new thread with your question PM fairtax4me he seems to know quite a bit about the ERIC system.
