Default Decisions, Decisions... some advice from the hive?

On the fence on how to go with my first upgrade..

Here's the details (I've already spoken with ScottyB, just trying to make a final decision on motor selection)

'99 Club Car DS Series 48v
Lift with 22" tires
Currently has an Alltrax 4834 (factory replacement 300amp) motor, and upgraded solenoid
Factory motor - runs about 14mph on flat ground
(Upgrading the F&R and cables to 2gauge as soon as I make a decision)

Goal is the most speed and torque for the best dollar value.

If I buy a new controller I'll go whole hog for the Alltrax 48600 (wouldn't want to leave torque on the table for +-$100) (Are there more problems with the higher amp controllers?)

He recommended the Admiral MOT-A1 as a really good value, and everything I've read backs this up.

The issue I'm coming up with is there are similar Speed & Torque motors out there for a little more $, that list a higher HP

Can you guys give me the scoop on something like the Plum Quick Rattlesnake real world differences (quality/durability/performance) to the MOT A1?

It lists 14.2 hp, 28/30mph, and +50% torque

Any alternatives to the Rattlesnake or MOT A1 I should consider? Best for the money?

The PQ line are just BAD. The Rattlesnake for Series and Executioner for Sepex will rip you head off. No other motor I have ever used comes close (MOT-A1, A2, or a few others). Now D&D and FSIP also make some affordable motors you can look at. Call David Hicks at Revolution Golf cars.

Any idea how the Rattlesnake compares to the D&D ES-58 motor?

(Looking for Speed & Torque)

never ran a D&D or been on a cart with one to be able to compare , sorry .

As far as the RS its a good balance of speed and torque , as we all know cant have both major torque and super speeds unless you go with a 2 speed rear end and thats whole different world .
