I think this is where he is stuck. Looks like he extracted the files from the software download without installing them. That may be something from windows 95 but hey, try deleting those file and download again. Hopefully your computer will ask if you want to RUN or SAVE the download - select RUN. You should end up with a small BLUE controller icon on the desktop. By the way- saving the field map to the desktop can be a easy way to find it too.

It looks like the only issue is that the old internet explorer is automatically opening the ".txt" file after he downloads it.

If he follows the steps I provided for that browser he will be able to download the Field map without opening.

Just opening with notepad.exe is not an issue either unless the "Save" button is clicked.

Hit it like a champ, have you successfully installed the Alltrax toolkit software yet?

I did download the tool Kit but it wont let me open it up. I am thinking this isn’t going to happen without someone that knows more about computers I didnt want to send it out because i wanted to learn the program for changing things using the tool kit. Sad to say this simple 5min task is beyond me. Maybe i will ask my nephew to look at it. these young kids know way more about this stuff than i do.

It’s really easy. What happens when you try to open the toolkit?

As I suspected the issue looks to be the download & install.
I had this issue years ago. Are you sure you are downloading the TOOLKIT software, not the PRO39 (old version)

As I suspected the issue is in the download & install. It looks like a zipped file?

It appears You do not have a zip extractor program, what version of windows are you running?

The file You need to click to open (seen already in your screen shot) is called:
Alltrax_Toolkit_Setup_V3_8.zip
Once that file opens, double-click the one named: Alltrax_Toolkit_Setup_V3_8.exe

If You get a "windows protected Your PC" message, click on "More Info" then "Run Anyway".

Default Alltrax field map help please

He’s using Windows 8.1. It will extract a zip file automatically. (Right click and extract)

Yes. Then open your Tool Kit and it will first check for Firmware updates and then you can load your file from wherever you saved it onto your PC.
