Default 2004 DS IQ 48V speed modulates

So while driving my 2004 I notice it will start to slow down, then if I left off the pedal and floor it again it seems to speed up. The batteries are brand new and fully charged.
The only mods are a removed OBC.

I plan to use my phone GPS to gauge speed tomorrow, what should I be looking for speed wise? Stock tires etc

That is your MCOR failing. You can pump the pedal 20-30 times with the key off and then try it again, but if it is better it will only be temporary. You can get a new one here.... https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/mcors

So I took it for s drive this morning and couldn’t get it to repeat... I did the pedal thing and no real distance.

The cart only runs at 12mph though, that seems slow to me with brand new fully charged batteries.

Now that is sounding like your speed sensor if you are around half speed.

Quick speed sensor test is to manually push the cart forwards and backwards and see if you feel stiff resistance and also the loud beeping noise. If not, the speed sensor has failed and you are in Limp Mode. If it is bad, you can get an OEM replacement here https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/motors Check the back of the motor to see if you have the flat snap in style or the top hat style.

It definitely fights me trying to push it and it beeps if I roll it backwards. I have been googling this morning, is 12mph the right speed roughly? Sounds like some courses put limiters on the carts?

Speed Codes for IQ: (Stock Tires)
Speed Setting 1 = 8 MPH
Speed Setting 2 = 13.2 MPH
Speed Setting 3 = 14.8 MPH
Speed Setting 4 = 19.6 MPH (Private Code)

Have you owned it long or just got it? Your original description seemed as if it were a new problem. The potentiometer (MCOR) controls and regulates the input to the controller for the output to the motor. If it intermittently drops speed and a release and depress of the pedal makes it run fast again, that is a classic MCOR failure....

I just got it... when I bought it the OBC was bad and it needed batteries... it felt like the speed was fluctuating but on the trip this morning it didn’t seem like it st all.. could have been just a rut in the dirt road or something like me just getting used to it. Yesterday’s trip was my first long trip (about 3 miles)

Be sure to read this and let those batteries break in and season them correctly. You will get use to the characteristics of the batteries as you do your cart...

Thank you.. in your opinion should I look into changing the speed setting?

I do want to lift it and go larger tires soon, not sure if that factors into the decision.

I am 300lb, or sure how the speed is factored with weight on the cart
