06 Precedent ignition has constant power
I read the previous threads but still cannot figure out why the cart will still run with the key in the off position. Here are some pictures of the wiring. Can’t figure out what may be wired wrong. Any ideas.

Re: 06 Precedent ignition has constant power
Have you changed, added or modified anything just prior to this occurring?
If not, probe both sides of the switch. It should be cold on one side and hot on the other with the key off. If it is not, you have a failed key switch or something is back-feeding that wire. Green should be hot and blue should be cold with key off. Everything looks dirty but the key switch looks new...... |

Re: 06 Precedent ignition has constant power
I just bought the cart at and auction. No accessories as far as i can tell. I replaced the ignition because i thought it was bad. The new switch is getting 48 volts on both terminals. I guess it is getting back fed. Just don’t know where from. Not sure how to figure out either! There is a mystery cable coming off bAttery 4 but it is not connected to anything.
Thanks for the response |

Re: 06 Precedent ignition has constant power
Sometimes voltage reducers or accessories will be hooked up wrong and can back feed your cold side.
I will post you a print. Use it to trace it down. |

Re: 06 Precedent ignition has constant power
I’ve had a faulty key switch where the ENTIRE CYLINDAR ROTATED behind the dash when turning the key off. Caused the same issue. Just a random possibility.

Re: 06 Precedent ignition has constant power
The first thing to do is to disconnect the green wire from the key switch and see if You still have 48v on the blue wire.
If so, clean up the wires around the solenoid and see if the solid blue wire on the solenoid tab is somehow touching the big post of the solenoid. The pack positive battery post should be the only one with an additional wire connected to (charger receptacle) right? |

Re: 06 Precedent ignition has constant power
Thanks for the info. After I clean everything I will trace the wires and see if everything is correct and check the wire Sergio mentioned isn't touching.
I will let you know how it works out. Mark |
