Brakes lock up after installing a 4" Lift
Brakes lock up after installing a 4" Lift, Lift kit is Jakes 4" and golf cart is a 2017 Club Precedent.
I adjusted the cable under the floor mat, but now the brakes go all the way down, and lock up completely. I can't find a adjustment either way from getting them from locking up. When I step on the brake pedal, I have to brake to sudden lock up Merry Christmas ! |

Make sure the U-bolts holding the axle are tight and are not allowing the axle to rotate when the brakes are applied.

Re: Brakes lock up after installing a 4" Lift
I had a similar experience with my DS. The cable became pulled too taught by the lift. When applying brakes, the axle would shift (spin) slightly increasing tension on the cable and locking the brakes. There is a bracket that relieves the tension. Google “clubcar brake cable extension bracket”. It doesn’t seem like that should make much difference but it solved the issue for me.

On the 6" lifts I all most always had to do it |
