Ez Go Rxv no engine braking
Hello. My daughter just bought a used 2011 Ez Go Rxv. There are a lot of hills where we camp and it has no engine braking. I ordered a drive belt just to see if that will help.
I have a Club Car DS which I have machined the clutches on and added the kevlar belt. It has amazing engine braking and I hardly use my brakes except to stop. Should the Ez Go at least slow down on hills? The motor runs strong but maybe I should check the compression? Any other ideas I am missing? |

Re: Ez Go Rxv no engine braking
If you are trying to coast down the hill, the clutches will drop out and release the belt, effectively disconnecting the engine from the transmission. you have to drive the cart down hill, not coast it to keep the clutches engaged for engine braking.
Maybe your your clubcar has a smaller than standard belt and keeps the clutches engaged. Having said that i have not driven an RXV, so i could be wrong. |

Re: Ez Go Rxv no engine braking
Correct, gas carts have no engine braking unless they are running.
