Default Break in after rebuild?

I hope to have Izzy back together later this week and I am curious if anyone has any break in advice?

The gas tank says to use 40 to 1 ratio for the first tank. I've heard that too much oil will clog the muffler?

Any other advice regarding how to drive it for that first tank would be appreciated.

I did 40:1 for the first tank no problem, I wasn't afraid to floor it letting it wind out for 5-10 seconds at a time. But basically I tried to hit all rpm ranges for a few seconds at a time for the first few hours. Then pretty much just drove it like normal

No, I am just sleeving the crankshaft, new rings, seals, gaskets, engine mounts, and replacing several bolts that broke off.

Can't wait!

Thanks for the help!

Oh ok, so you decided to sleeve rather than weld and turn?

Yeah, too much heat from welding. One machinist said the best solution was to chrome plate it but it was stupid expensive.

Clogged muffler is a long term problem, not one tank of gas. Run it through all different rpm ranges, and remember it's a low speed low compression engine. It's going to take a lot to ruin it.
