Default 1999 EZGO Robins 295 No Fuel

Fuel pump is getting air from the crank fitting. Cart runs when fuel is put into feed line into carb. Will not pick up fuel from the tank. Checked all lines for leaks, there are none.

Wondering if I have a split in the fuel pump. Or if I am not priming the system correctly. Any ideas?

Check the pick up line in tank to see if it came off

It is hooked up, and has no leaks.

If you pull the carb side of the fuel pump and there is no gas coming out, and youve confirmed suction, safe to say the fuel pump needs to be replaced. If gas comes out of the line at the carb than youll probably need to check the carb.

I did test that, and there is no fuel coming out of the pump. How would I know if there is suction? I know the vacuum line is working, but cannot feel the suction on the fuel supply side. Would I even notice that?

Remove the valve cover and see if your intake valves are pulled into head. Also check your compression making sure the throttle is wide open.

I bought a cart from a person two years ago. He had put two fuel pumps on it trying to get it to pump and give up and sold it to me.

The compression was actually pretty good but the intake valves were awful as you can see in the picture. Those two in the middle are the intakes.

They're all set at .004 with a feeler gauge. I haven't check compression, but this motor is a fresh rebuild. Has no miles on it. Reassembling now.

Some fuel pumps are kinda finicky about picking up fuel after they have been sitting awhile and got dry.
Remove the fuel line from the carb, stick it in a clear bottle and blow air into the tank until it comes out of the hose, That will prime the whole fuel system.
After it comes out of the hose then push the gas pedal, if you get fuel from the fuel line then the fuel pump is working so reinstall on carb and try it.
If it runs then fine, if it still doesn't then carb cleaning is in order.
If you blow in tank and get nothing or just air from hose then you have a air leak in the pick up tube assy somewhere.
