Default Generator question

I have a 2012 48v lifted club car precedent that I use to shoot sporting clays with. I have taken it to multiple 2 day shoots and never had an issue with the batteries lasting. I will be going to a few 3 to 4 day shoots that make me wonder if my batteries will last. I wanted to buy a suitcase generator to just top my battlers off each evening. I have read that the initial start up charge causes the generator overload to trip. Is this true? Will a suitcase generator do what I want it to do?
Thanks

If you get a 2000 watt one will work 1000 watt probably trip unless your using a switching type charger.

I have a power drive 3 charger. I was planning on getting at least a 2000 watt. I just didn't want to waste my money if it wouldn't work.

Typically any issues are related to "eco or economy mode", as long as You disable that, a 2000W should work fine.

The PowerDrive 3 only needs 10 amps to work, but the load presented to the generator is "non-linear" which typically is not compatible with 'eco' modes.

Where are you staying/sleeping during those events? Even motels have outside receptacles you could use at night to charge your batteries. Mine recharges with a 5 gallon gas can, lol.
