Default Rear end fluid?

Does anyone know the proper amount of oil the rear end holds and what type of oil? I know generally you just fill it to the top fill hole. I have my cart on its side and would make filling it quite easy in its current position... 2002 club car ds electric.

Dave's the club car guru, but I believe in putting gear oil on gears so I went with 80-90w synthetic gear oil in my rear. Filled it to the brim.

Dave is my buddy, but I am with NCPW on this one for sure. 30wt is fine if you are running 14mph on a golf course. But if you have upgraded the powertrain, added a lift or put bigger tires, etc. I go with gear oil for the pressures and additives to support heavier differential loading.

Just a tip. It's a lot easier to fill if you tip your cart on its side!!!!

I agree with you. I was just giving him factory specs. If I owned a cart, it would have gear oil in it.
