Temps
So all my wires are done in 2 gauge welding wire
Let's say i hop on the cart make a flat out run with random stops on a 12 mile round trip Pull in the garage and through the temp gun on it Motor is about 129 degrees at the brushes 100-110 on the body F/r switch is about 90ish Batteries about 87-90 Outside temp was probably 85 and im in sunny Florida but this was a night run with led heads and tails on Im sure the motor has been hotter then that before with some soft sand and hill climbing but do those numbers sound reasonable? |

Re: Temps
Unless you are getting the cables for free, not much improvement to be found with 1/0 awg over 2 awg.... And the bigger it is the heavier and firmer it is...

Re: Temps
Nolefan .. i have a question that is not really related to this but instead of making another thread.. is there any way to keep my batteries from splashing from the vents? i feel like every time i pop my seat theres fluid on tip and im tired of wire brushing corrosion off the terminals

Re: Temps
Unfortunately no. If you are using a smart charger with the correct algorithm, they are much better at not producing as much acid mist. If you are still using an old style charger, they really pump it up and precipitation is the burden of the beast.
It gets worse as batteries get older and take longer to charge. Just be sure your vent caps are clean and you keep the water level at 1/4" and no more than 1/2" above the plates. |

Re: Temps
They won't use any water with that trickle charger - Keep an eye on the water when you get the proper charger on line.
